Friends & Co Forms New Partnership with Jewish Family Service of St Paul

When you have few new resources, how do you expand your capacity to support people and build on their strengths to meet life’s challenges? With the help and support of volunteers! And to expand their volunteer contributions, JFS and Friends & Co have come together to better meet the needs of the older adults served by JFS. Through this partnership, JFS will identify and refer clients who are over the age of 60, socially isolated, and indicate an interest in companionship to Friends & Co. After a conversation designed to help make the best match possible, Friends & Co will pair the JFS client with one of their fully vetted and trained volunteers to talk with and visit as the client prefers.

JFS Community Engagement Coordinator Anne Myers explained, “This partnership harnesses the warm and caring network of volunteers at Friends & Co with JFS clients’ needs, creating better client health outcomes and greater synergy between our organizations.”
