Friends & Co Launches Holiday Cards Connect Program to Spread Cheer to Minnesotans Facing Loneliness. This Season!
Friends & Co, a local nonprofit dedicated to reducing loneliness and promoting connection across Minnesota, is thrilled to announce the launch of its annual Holiday Cards Connect program. This volunteer-driven initiative aims to bring a touch of holiday warmth and joy to isolated Minnesotans, including older adults, community members in assisted living, and others who may not have family or friends close by during the holiday season.
Starting today, we invite caring community members to create and send holiday cards that will be distributed to our members across the state. Each card is a small but powerful gesture—a bright reminder that someone is thinking of them and wishing them well. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and no previous crafting experience is necessary. A simple message of kindness and connection can make a world of difference for someone spending the holidays alone.
“With loneliness and isolation impacting so many of our neighbors, especially during the winter months, we believe that thoughtful gestures, like receiving a card, can uplift spirits and remind individuals they are not alone,” says Jethra Kapp, Director of Program Development of Friends & Co. “Holiday Cards Connect is a wonderful way for people of all ages to come together in the spirit of giving and help combat the challenges of loneliness in our communities.”
Last year, volunteers across the U.S. crafted over 2,600 cards, reaching countless individuals throughout Minnesota. Friends & Co hopes to surpass that impact this year and connect even more people through this heartfelt initiative.
How You Can Get Involved:

Get Notified: After signing up, you will receive an email with more details, including FAQs.
Create Cards: Design holiday cards with messages of warmth and positivity. Cards can be handmade or store-bought.
Drop Off or Mail In: Completed cards can be mailed to Friends & Co @
