Advisory Committee Mission & Vison
Friends & Co initiated the Let’s Do Lunch Cafe Advisory Committee by inviting volunteers from among Let’s Do Lunch participants to form a committee to advise and assist staff in planning and carrying out the Let’s Do Lunch program. The Advisory Committee meets regularly and works closely with Friends & Co staff to support and sustain Let’s Do Lunch as a vital community resource for enriching the lives and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ older adults.
Advisory Committee members devote their time, energy and experience to fulfilling this mission in a variety of ways:
· By providing advice and active support for all Let’s Do Lunch program areas including venue selection, catering, hospitality, programming, and community outreach.
· By serving as a channel for communication between Let’s Do Lunch participants and staff for the exchange of program information and participants’ feedback on their experiences, needs and concerns.
· By actively engaging with Let’s Do Lunch newcomers and regular attendees to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for all our community’s elders.
In purpose and vision, the Let’s Do Lunch Cafe Advisory Committee shares responsibility with Friends & Co for the Let’s Do Lunch program’s continuing vitality and growth.
Notice of Filming and Photography
When you enter any Friends & Co event or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur.
We’re a fun community and love capturing good moments — but we completely understand that some people prefer not to be photographed or recorded. From bad-hair days to privacy concerns, every reason is valid. If you prefer not to be included in photos or videos at any time, feel free to step aside or let a staff member know — no explanation needed.
