About Friends & Co.
We believe meaningful connections are essential for older adults’ health and happiness.
Who We Are
We are a Minnesota-based nonprofit committed to creating connection and belonging for older adults through friendship-centered programs that build community.
Founded in 1972, our organization has spent over 50 years nurturing meaningful relationships to combat isolation and loneliness. In 2022, we became Friends & Co to reflect our evolving focus on inclusive, community-based connection for all older adults.
Our Mission
“Friends & Co celebrates aging through community-led service that fosters meaningful connections for everyone.”
Our Vision
We envision a world where every older adult thrives in meaningful relationships and belongs to a caring, vibrant community.
Why Connection Matters

Friendship changes everything.
At Friends & Co, we believe connection isn’t just nice to have—it’s essential for health and happiness. When older adults have regular opportunities to share stories, laughter, and friendship, it strengthens individuals, families, and entire communities.
Connection improves:
- Physical & Mental Health
- Cognitive Functioning
- Stress Levels in Caregivers
- Community Trust & Resilience
Our Programs
Creating Exponential Connection
Each of our programs is designed to nurture natural, mutual friendships that extend benefits beyond the individual:
Together, these programs build bonds that benefit individuals, their families, and the broader community — what we call exponential connection.
