Gloria is a quiet, gentle woman whose greatest joy is connecting with others and relishing warm conversation. Born and raised in Badger, a small town in Roseau County, Minnesota, Gloria treasures memories of her idyllic childhood. Her blacksmith father and homemaker mother provided a loving family life for Gloria and her three younger siblings. Badger was one of those close-knit and friendly communities where everyone knew one another. Gloria fondly recalls playing freely with her siblings and friends, swimming in the town pool, skating in winter, and visiting the local soda fountain for a cool treat in summer or a hot cocoa when the weather turned cold.
The oldest of three, Gloria graduated from high school with a close group of classmates and later married Raymond at age 20. Together, they raised four children—Renee, Julie, Brian, and Lalyn—moving frequently but always fostering a home filled with love, freedom, and friendship. Gloria became a devoted mother and homemaker herself, but also worked outside the home, including at a candy store and as a waitress. She enjoyed meeting people, serving others, and cooking for her family. Her children especially loved her spaghetti, which was one of her specialties.
Today, Gloria delights in rare visits from her children and seven grandchildren, cherishing every chance to hear about their busy lives. She enjoys puzzles, coloring, and reading—especially the Bible, which reflects her abiding faith. She listens well with hearing aids and loves an occasional outing for ice cream or a meal, though she’s not a coffee drinker (hot cocoa is her winter favorite).
Gloria hopes for a companion who enjoys sharing stories and simply spending time together. Since the local adult day program she has been a member of for over ten years closed, Gloria has a significant gap in her social circle, compounding her loneliness.
She is a non-smoker.
