Marianne is a thoughtful and warm-hearted woman who recently moved into her new home in February to be in a blue state. She doesn’t drive but enjoys taking slow, peaceful walks, especially near the park by her home. She would love a volunteer who enjoys walking and doesn’t mind strolling at a relaxed pace. Since she lives close to a park, there’s no need to travel far.
A lifelong lover of books, Marianne enjoys fiction, picture books, and westerns, especially those without swearing. She would love to connect with a fellow reader to share book chats, and museum visits. She’s also into sewing and would enjoy bonding over shared creative hobbies.
Marianne is an only child of Dorothy and Edward. She has no children of her own but has a big heart for companionship and conversation. She is a bit of a YouTube junkie, especially when it comes to funny or heartwarming cat videos.
Her life journey has taken her from growing up in LA, to living in Idaho where she enjoyed camping, and now to Minnesota. She also spent time in San Francisco. Marianne attended Catholic school in her early years before switching to public school. She studied at a community college, briefly attended UCLA (which she didn’t enjoy), and later completed her degree in her 30s with a major in Liberal Studies and a minor in Speech/Communication. She had originally wanted to major in American History.
A former hospice volunteer in Bloomington, Marianne deeply values meaningful human connection. She hopes to find a volunteer close to her age and social class, someone who shares her interests and would enjoy a quiet afternoon chatting over books or walking in nature.
