We’d like to introduce you to the newest Friends & Co staff member Emily Beck. Her role oversees Friends & Co’s Teleconnection Programs, including Coffee Talk and Phone Companions, both of which she’s already jumped into with both feet.
In a recent email with our phone volunteers, Beck shared how wonderful it was to see each volunteer caring so much for older adults in the conversations she was a part of.
She is hoping to support volunteers by being accessible for questions and ideas, keeping systems running smoothly, and making sure meaningful moments don’t go unnoticed.

A Few Things to Know:
I love being part of creating community and connecting people to friendships. I have done this in other ways working and volunteering at nonprofits in the Twin Cities.
I’m looking forward to learning the needs of our members and creating opportunities for friendships to flourish.
Typical coffee order: usually I make tea at home (chai or earl grey), but every so often a vanilla latte is a nice treat!
My favorite ways to spend time with friends: sharing meals, going on walks, talking about our shared and unique experiences, going out for breakfast.
