Laurie is an exceptional volunteer who consistently goes above and beyond for both our organization and the older adults we serve. She dedicates several hours each week as a “Coffee Talk” program Coffee Talker, answering incoming calls and offering connection and support. In addition, Laurie serves as a Phone Companion to Cindy, and has built a strong, supportive relationship through regular conversations. She also contributes regularly to our Cards Connect program by creating holiday cards.
Through her many roles, Laurie brings support, connection, and smiles to countless older adults!

I know what it means to be lonely, and I love meeting new people.

There are so many ways to volunteer, and the people are lovely.
What is a memorable moment that reflects the connections you’ve made?
Well, the highlight of my experience at Friends & Co has got to be my beautiful friendship with my Phone Companion. I look forward to our phone call every week, and I feel so close to her.
